You Probably Don't Have a Performance Problem, You Have a Systems Problem

Most workplaces don’t have a performance problem. They have a friction problem. Friction between how people naturally think, communicate, and work and how the workplace expects them to.
I've worked with dozens of neurodivergent employees and their managers, and it's often unclear and/or arbitrary expectations that fuel most performance issues.
It shows up as:
• burnout
• miscommunication
• inconsistent output
• “interpersonal issues” that never really get resolved
Especially for #neurodivergent employees (who make up likely over 20% of your team or organization) and the people managing them.
Most organizations try to fix the person. More training. More (vague) feedback. More pressure to “improve.” 🥴
Instead of fixing the conditions that are creating the problem.
That’s the work I do.
I partner with teams and organizations to reduce the friction that’s undermining performance by:
• making expectations explicit instead of assumed
• redesigning communication so it actually leads to mutual understanding
• helping managers navigate accommodations and adjustments with confidence
• building systems that don’t rely on unsustainable effort to function
The result:
• more consistent output
• fewer interpersonal breakdowns
• higher retention
• people doing good work without burning out to maintain it
This isn’t about being “nice” or “inclusive” for optics. It’s about building workplaces that actually work.
If you’re seeing the same patterns repeat on your team, it’s not random, it’s structural.

📢 I run Neuro-inclusive Management workshops and education sessions for teams who are ready to address it directly. If that’s you, let’s talk!
